A Welcome from the SAR Foundation President

Welcome to the Sons of the American Revolution Foundation!  The Sons of the American Revolution are dedicated to three things – History, Education and Patriotism.  Our programs are built to pursue each of these and while focused on educating youth in the Founding and its values our programs are valuable to adults as well.  .

The Society hosts school age children in our Headquarters for educational purposes where we hold classes on events during the Revolution and founding.  Our programs teach the public about the history of the founding of our nation and the ideals of our patriot ancestors.  Our museum has a diverse collection of artifacts from that era, including documents, maps, military and common household items.  These artifacts enrich the experience of all who participate in our programs but especially school age children.

The SAR is very active on-line, sharing programs with insights into our museum collection as well as providing a daily report on often obscure but interesting historic events along with more in depth features in the Revolutionary War Rarities podcast.

The SAR Education Center and Museum highlights the American Revolution and is currently undergoing significant improvements which promise an enriching and exciting experience when we open in 2026. It will be a truly remarkable facility which will further the historical and educational goals of the SAR.

In addition to a world-class museum experience, guests can enjoy the opportunity to use the onsite SAR Genealogical Research Library, and perhaps discover their own family’s history and forge a personal connection to the American Revolution.

The Sons of the American Revolution Foundation supports the programs of National Society of the Sons of the American Revolution by fundraising, grant seeking, and donor stewardship. The SAR Foundation would like to thank donors at all levels, especially those who have chosen to give to our $15 million capital campaign to improve the SAR Education Center and Museum.

This project is not only unique but meaningful. I am asking for your support. Please consider joining with us in further expanding our Educational outreach programs.  While much of the needed funds have been raised and put to use, $15 million is still needed and naming opportunities are still available. Please, donate today and help the SAR Foundation educate the public about our legacy of freedom and civil liberty for generations to come.

Sincerely,

Daniel R. McKelvie
